3rd Annual ShamRock 'n Run
Glenknoll is going for the Gold! The school with the highest percentage of runners representing their school in the ShamRock ‘n Run will take home the traveling trophy to display for the year. Each participant who runs on behalf of Glenknoll will earn $5 for our school. The funds earned will be directed toward the Garden Club and Reading Improvement Program.
There will be a pre-registration table this Friday after school—register now and you will save $5 per registration!
Adult 5k -$30.00 (after 2/22/15 -$35.00)
Youth 5k $15.00 (after 2/22/14 -$20.00)
Adult 2k -$25.00 (after 2/22/15 - $30.00)

Next Friday after school, at the lunch benches, we will have a table set up for ShamRock ‘n Run registration. You can complete your registration form and pay by cash or check (made payable to the R.E.A.C.H. Foundation). You will be able to designate Glenknoll as your school at this time.
Registration forms have been distributed to each classroom and are available in the front office and library. Online registration will be available at the R.E.A.C.H. Foundation website in the near future. Don’t forget to designate Glenknoll as your school!
Please remember to follow all traffic laws as you drop your students off and pick them up at Glenknoll. Some parents have reported dangerous traffic situations and we have requested increased traffic enforcement. Help keep our students safe and avoid a costly traffic ticket:
PTA Officer Search
We are looking for a few good men and women to fill the Glenknoll PTA Executive Board for our 2015-2016 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved, meet some dedicated parents, bring in new ideas for PTA sponsored programs, a chance to voice your opinion, and understand how decisions are made regarding PTA. Most important of all, Glenknoll PTA gives to our school by supporting programs that benefit the kids and make school an overall positive experience. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
President –Oversees the various programs, conducts monthly meetings, plans the budget and helps schedule the school calendar
Exec. VP – Assists the President in the above duties and usually becomes the President the following school year
1st VP Fundraising – Plans the fall fundraiser and the spring Jog-A-Thon
2nd VP Assemblies - Schedules the Walk-Through assemblies and follow-up
3rd VP Family Education – Schedules the dine-out nights and assists with Bookfair Family Nights
Recording Secretary – Keeps accurate notes of PTA meetings and distributes minutes to members
Treasurer – Maintains the annual budget, writes checks, and assists with counting money for deposits
Financial Secretary – Double counts money and makes weekly bank deposit
Auditor – Conducts 2 audits each year of the PTA banking
Historian – Maintains logs of volunteer hours and keeps a file of fliers for the year
We need to have these positions filled by mid-February so we can vote to approve these positions at the association meeting on March 17th at 1:15pm.
