Glenknoll Elementary School

Principal's Message

August 2016

Dear Glenknoll Families,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!  I am looking forward to an outstanding year at Glenknoll Elementary school.  I am excited to meet you and get to know the Glenknoll community as well.  I just wanted to take a few moments to introduce myself and to share a little about me and my past experiences.

My wife and I have lived in Yorba Linda for the past 17 years and have three boys that attend school in the Placentia-Yorba Linda school district.   My wife is a middle school teacher in Irvine and I have twins that will be in ninth grade this year and my youngest son will enter fourth grade.

Professionally, I have been involved in educating children for the past 19 years with my most recent assignment of being a principal at Brookhaven Elementary school in Placentia.  Prior to being a principal, I served as an assistant principal in the Corona-Norco Unified School district for six years.  Before becoming an administrator, I was an elementary literacy coach and classroom teacher for nine years.  One of my goals this year is to have the opportunity to build partnerships with all of you.  I feel fortunate to be a part of the Glenknoll staff as the new principal.

I have genuine concern for students that I work with and have high behavioral and academic expectations.  I look forward to making a positive impact on your children as I get to know them through daily interaction and the many events that have been planned for the year.

Glenknoll is an outstanding school with high academic achievement and has recently been awarded The California Gold Ribbon Award by the state of California.  This is a great accomplishment and I want to thank the staff, students, and parents for their hard work and for putting students first.

As you know, you are a vital part of your child’s education.  My hope is that we can work together to make this a fantastic year.  Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions, comments, or concerns.  I will be happy to discuss your child with you and hope that we can work together to make this a wonderful learning environment for everyone.

Our PTA continues to provide us with funding for activities that enrich our students.  They are always in need of volunteers to assist them with fundraising and other activities.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact our PTA through the school office.  The biggest way you can make a difference is by becoming a PTA member.

I am very excited about the start of a new school year and am confident that it will be a great year for all of us.
